Want to hear another story about how the banks didn't work in your best interest? It has to do with this box. It is my goal to help you build your net worth within every interaction. When a client came in the bank asking for a checking account, our managers told us we had to do something called the full meal deal or the happy meal. That means we opened them up a checking account but did not give the client the choice and opened up a savings account with two different automatic savings plans that took money from the checking and moved it to the savings. Now, that's not a terrible thing; setting up a savings plan for the client but not letting them know they have a choice is. What happened next? Bank employees are rated on a point system. The more business they got, the more points they earned. When reps got desperate, they automatically added those savings plans without clients knowing. I had clients come back to me saying, "why is there no money in my checking account?" I would then take a look, and there's a savings plan opened up and money moving over, and the client had no clue.
